Filter Media

Filter media is used to clean up unwanted bio organisms in aquariums, fish tanks and ponds. Besides grabbing unwanted materials from your aquarium, filter medias are 100% aquatic safe. There are 3 different types of Filter Media to maintain overall health of the aquarium.

  • Mechanical medias sit inside the filter box to remove solid wastes, and simultaneously return clean water to the aquarium.
  • Chemical medias are meant to improve water quality in a similar fashion to mechanical media. However chemical media will trap dissolved waste which would otherwise pass thru larger mechanical media.
  • Biological medias are used in connection with normal ecosystem functions to remove unwanted material naturally.
